November 25, 2019 – November 26, 2019 all-day
Audrianna Marzette of Chronic Disease Prevention Program
General Information

Prediabetes is a serious health condition that affects one out of three adults in the United States. Chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and stroke are leading causes of death and are of growing concern in Wyoming. Many people with prediabetes don’t even know they have it. Identifying people with these conditions and linking them to resources to improve their health can greatly improve health outcomes while preventing costly complications.

The National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) lifestyle change program is an evidence-based program that has been demonstrated to delay or prevent the onset of diabetes for persons at-risk for type 2 diabetes. Participants who completed a DPP were one third less likely to develop type 2 diabetes even ten years after completion of the program.
